The Airbnb review checker for people who got burned by a 4.8+ rating

You can, and most people read six and stop. We read all of them (the most recent 2,000 on the very largest listings), not just the angry ones, count how often each problem comes up, give the last year more weight, and check the fine print and amenities too. The report says how many reviews that was.

Not the words. For each review we keep its star rating, its date, and what we judged about it, nothing else. That lets us change how we weigh things later without re-reading anything. We never store reviewer names, photos or profile links, and a report quotes a few words at most.

No. Hosts can't pay us, and we don't take booking commissions. Revenue comes from trip packs only, and it's published on /stats.

Yes. A check buys you the report for a listing, whether we build it fresh or already have it. The free reports on this page cost nothing, and once you've unlocked a report you can re-read it forever.

A Skip needs a problem that repeats. That means the same complaint from several guests who rated the place below five stars, or a serious one that five-star guests bring up too. Anything short of that still shows on the report under "go in knowing", with how many guests said so. The whole method is on How we decide.

The next check reads just the new reviews and updates the report. Re-reading a report you've unlocked is always free.

We check a listing you've unlocked every day until a date you pick, like your check-in. If the verdict changes, we email you that day with the reason. Watch comes with the $19 pack and covers up to 5 listings for 6 months.

Once a day we ask Airbnb how many reviews the listing has. If the number went up, we read the new reviews. If the verdict changes, we rewrite the report and email you.

One email per change. It says what the verdict was, what it is now, and why, with a link to the report and a link to stop watching. If nothing changes, you hear nothing.
